Summer is Here –
Remember this creek? I took a picture from this vantage point when we first arrived here in Nauvoo, when it was dressed for winter – no leaves, no color…and no warmth. The stark difference reminds me that our 12-month mission is half over!
It’s not just the weather that has changed in Nauvoo. The Young Sister Missionaries returned from their outbound (winter) assignments, bringing with them warming days and the awakening colors of Spring!
The Nauvoo Performing Missionaries arrived shortly thereafter, filling the air with with their talents and entertaining one and all from the stage to the bustling streets around the Historic Sites.
Summer is here and the thousands that have put a pin on Nauvoo as a vacation destination are starting to arrive.
I might not have the talent, or the energy, or a bubbly personality like my youthful counterparts, but just being around them helps me feel less like a ‘Senior’ Missionary. The Nauvoo and British Pageants run from July 9th through August 3rd.
I am happy to paint…whatever, cut grass, or trim trees, and it is a pleasure to be part of a group that works so hard on a site that has one purpose – Testifying of Jesus Christ and His Restored Gospel!
