The Sun came up this morning – Unnoticed

But when you wait in the still of the predawn hour

On the desert floor or a mountain high

You greet its rising – in awe of its power

Its warming rays make your spirit fly

The moon rose up this evening  – Unnoticed

But when evening gives way to the enveloping night

The stars shine brightly for themselves and no other

So you welcome the flood of the moons soft light

And gaze in wonder at the heavenly cover

The world keeps turning – the seasons go by

The goals of your youth – come – or come not

But thoughts shouldn’t dwell on things not tried

Focus instead on what your deeds have wrought 

Fear life’s simple treasures slip by – Unnoticed
