Why the Forest Floor?
Have you ever walked into a quiet spot in the forest and just stopped to take it in? You quickly realize that it isn’t quite as still as you first assumed as the birds alert the world that you are there. Small creatures scurry about, annoyed at the intrusion, as it is evident that you don’t really belong in their neighborhood.
Chaos and order reside here, comfortably together, and the hush of the place confirms to your heart of God’s creation. Hot or cold, wet or dry, dark or bright, the forest floor provides every needful thing, in abundance…if we but harken to the voice of The Creator.
This is the very type of place that our Heavenly Father selected to open the heavens in our day. This is the very type of place that seemed suitable to a young boy, Joseph Smith, to approach the Lord in prayer in search of the questions he pondered. A young boy that would be the Prophet of God in the dispensation of the fullness of times!
This is the very type of place that we can seek the answers that we ponder in our own hearts.
